Battle of the Sexes Explores Complex Battles

It was 44 years ago this week that Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King played "The Battle of the Sexes" tennis match. The film, The Battle of the Sexes, opens in wide release today. It stars Emma Stone as King and Steve Carrell as Riggs.

The films summary blurb reads, "The 1973 tennis match between King and Riggs became the most watched televised sports event of all time. Trapped in the media glare, King and Riggs were on opposites sides of a binary argument, but off-court each was fighting more personal and complex battles.
