The San Diego Union Tribune reports:
A San Diego couple was reportedly arrested Tuesday at in an international airport in Bangkok after the two men exposed their buttocks at Buddhist temples while posing for pictures they later posted on social media.
On Tuesday night, immigration authorities arrested the 38-year-old men at Don Mueang International Airport while they “were trying to depart the country,” the Bangkok Post reported.

The couple, Travis Ti and Joseph Dasilva, took photos at Buddhist temples in Thailand, and the concern has grown on social media after a post said they were at a police station.

The USA Today also reports:
Police said the men each paid a fine of 5,000 baht ($150) at a police station near the temple and have been handed over to immigration authorities.
Police are also considering charging the men under Thailand’s computer crimes act as the image was posted online, said Wisit Suwan, the deputy chief of the Bangkok Yai district police station.
The controversial law is often used against political activists to stifle free speech online or against those accused of insulting Thailand’s monarchy. It carries punishments of up to five years in prison.

The Thai government released the following statement via a Facebook Post:
"A gay American couple who author the Instagram page “Travelling Butts” has been arrested at Don Mueang International Airport for having taken photos showing their backsides with the respected Temple of the Dawn. A deputy spokesman for the immigration police said the charge would not be a normal public indecency charge. Instead, they would be charged with committing indecency in a place of worship, which carries a long jail term.This is a reminder that everyone should have respect for Thai religion and culture."
