The LGBTQ hate group falsely named "One Million Moms" (as there is no indication that any moms, much less anywhere near a million make up the group) has posted a warning on their website about Scholastic books. Their hair is on fire because they say a book Scholastic publishes poses a danger to children. The book is called George, and it is about a transgender child. Read their notice below (the emphasis is mine).
Everyone is familiar with Scholastic Inc. Their book fairs are popular fundraisers at your child’s school. However, Scholastic is not safe for your child and parents should be warned.
Scholastic Inc., the world's largest publisher and distributor of children's books, is using its platform to promote pro-homosexual and pro-transgender books for children.
The corporation, for example, published a pro-transgender book called George for 3rd graders. "When people look at George, they think they see a boy," the book reads. "But she [George] knows she's not a boy. She knows she's a girl."
According to its website, Scholastic Inc. reaches 6 million children per week with its publications. It features morally toxic reading lists for children, such as:
"Books for Two-Mommy Families"
"Great books for Two-Dad Families"
"6 Picture Books About Transgender Children"
Scholastic does not have our children's best interests at heart. Tell Scholastic to stop harming children.The posting goes on to advise people to take action by contacting Scholastic to demand they stop publishing this horrible, dangerous book.
Another action you can take is to support Scholastic by buying the book or multiple copies here. It also sends a message to the several hateful conservatives that make up One Million Moms -- that their warning is the best advertising the book could ever hope for. If you don't have a child or know a child who might like it, we suggest donating copies to your local library.

The AFA promotes "traditional moral values" in media. A large part of that work involves "combating the homosexual agenda" through various means, including publicizing companies that have pro-gay policies and organizing boycotts against them.
The AFA has been extremely vocal over the years in its opposition to LGBT rights, marriage equality and allowing gay men and lesbians to serve in the military. The group's arguments are filled with claims that equate homosexuality with pedophilia and argue that there's a "homosexual agenda" afoot that is set to bring about the downfall of American (and ultimately, Western) civilization.
