Deborah "Didi" Reuter was born 50 years ago today, January 18, in 1968. She is the Senior Vice President for Education for the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), a nonprofit organization working for safe and effective health technology. Reuter lives with her wife, Debbie Bea, their son, Keith, their dog, Madge, and their cat, Lucy, in Alexandria, Virginia.
Reuter grew up in Bethel, Connecticut, and went to college at Indiana University (Bloomington), where she studied in public policy and graduated in 1990. She has been working at AAMI for nearly 20 years.

Reuter is an avid reader, and enjoys both jigsaw and crossword puzzles, playing cards, watching giraffe births, and the Indigo Girls. She also is part of a film discussion group called "La Magnifique," which meets and critiques a different film every week. In addition, it is rumored she will have the occasional cocktail--usually a martini or glass of white wine.
She also enjoys traveling to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and vacations each year with dear friends in Stonington, Maine. These friends recently moved from the Washington, DC, area to New York City, so she and her wife plan on visiting there often in the future.
Anyone who knows Reuter is captivated by her and her infectious laugh. She is always kind and very tenderhearted, often moved to tears by a love song or romantic movie. She is not a celebrity; but just a regular person living her life out and proud.
